Iran series to rebuild Iran monarchy torture sites

Producer of Iranian series talks about new shooting locations for the second season.

Mohsen Ali-Akbari, producer of new Iranian series ‘Infiltration’, gives new details on the shooting locations of the second season of his highly successful series.

According to the producer, the first scenes that will go in front of the camera are flashbacks from Tehran during the pre-revolutionary time period when the Shah’s notorious secret police, the SAVAK, were after Islamic revolutionary forces.

Ali-Akbari said of the new shooting locations, “The torture sites of the SAVAK will be built near an old high school in Tehran.

Based on actual events, ‘Infiltration’ is a depiction of the US government’s meddling in Iranian affairs while questioning capitalist ideals.

The first season was set before the Revolution up until the capture of the US embassy, known as the “Den of Espionage” in Iran, by Iranian students.

Following the highly successful first season, the second season will focus on the time period between the takeover of the US embassy until the end of the imposed US-backed Iraq war against Iran.

Directed by ‘The Envoy’ director Javad Shamaqdari, the second season of ‘Infiltration’ is currently in pre-production with filming set for late August.

The cast for the series includes Amin Eskandarian as “Mehdi”, Kimia Akrami as “Mahboubeh”, Ahmad Najafi as “Parviz”, Hamid Goudarzi as “Nafisi”, Rahim Norouzi as “Sorkhou”, Aliram Nouraei as “Baktash”, Saleh Mirza-Aqaei as “Colonel Sharifzadeh”, Shohreh Lorestani as “Mahboubeh’s Mother”, and Zahra Saeedi as “Mehdi’s Grandmother”.
